The jam last night was one of the best yet. As we approach the final phase of writing for this album, we are so locked in its insane. After months of attacking the mission to create a slab of heaviness that will satisfy our voracious hunger for THRASH, we have arrived at our destination!
The plan is to continue writing for the next couple of weeks and enter the recording studio by September. I will kick down the details soon as to who we will choose to work with and where. Also will throw some song titles your way, perhaps the album title as well... but not yet! Sit tight now, children...
Back to the music. Fuckin heavy as fuck! Dark vibe throughout, twisted and maniacal. Brutally solid and melodic at once. Urgent and triumphant driven by pain and angst. Different cuts keep getting stuck in my head as the obsession with this record deepens. It's crushing and oh so tasty!
Dying to give you the details, but not until the word is final (you know how we do) so keep checking back. I promise not to keep you waiting like I usually do! We can't help it if we are the unconventionally ambiguous bastards of thrash!
Thanks for sticking with us. Prepare for a sonic beat down!

Wuzzup Kids!
Dropping a line to let you know what's going on in the DA camp these days. We've been jamming out at our studio in Oakland, creating a new album which we plan to release later this year. Good vibes are flowing! Can't wait for you to feel it…
We're pretty much going to lay low on the live shows until we get the album completed. In fact, we did not plan to do any shows at all before summer but then we got invited to play in the Philippines! "Pulp Summer Slam Seven" takes place at Amoranto Stadium in Manila and we can't wait to hit that outdoor stage in the sizzling heat… it's gonna be insane!
Ok, maybe one or two of the summer festivals in Europe, its torture passing those up!
Other than that it's all about getting that "studio tan" but you can bet your sweet ass that we'll be coming your way after we drop our new disc on ya…
I also want to thank each and every one of you who continue to support and enjoy our music. You make us feel so warm and fuzzy.
Cheers!

A message from Mark Osegueda
Hey Guys!! It's Mark here. Thank you for all the support. You guys Fucking rule!!! Just letting you know that I have a new band. Don't get me wrong. I still sing for Death Angel. But while there is this bit of down time. I needed to keep busy. So new is this band that we don't even have a name yet. But I'm lovin it. And it's fun as hell playing again. Probably won't start playing out till early next year. The Music is more straight ahead Balls out rock. (Mc5/ The Bronx) short punchy songs. Very in your face!! For those of you from the Bay Area. The band consists of a couple of guys from Lica-sto, a guy from Tres Pistolas, a guy who was in The Sick, and The OOzies, and a guy from Death Angel!! (me). We have like 6 songs, and more keep coming fast. I'll keep you all posted. But I assure you this does not mean Death Angel is dead. I can't wait to be on stage again with them. But Music is my life, and I can only stay still for so long!! I also can't wait to play out with these guys. It's FUCKING FUN man!! Until then, I'll keep you posted. I miss every one of you beautiful mother fucker's. See you soon. But never soon enough for me.

In this interview with Mark done by phone on the eve of Death Angel's departure for a major European series of festivals, we decided to avoid usual themes like the background for disbanding and the purpose of getting back together, since they are all covered in detail on the band's official side. Our goal was to explore what's less publicized, but no less interesting.

What a great show yesterday and a great turnout too. The venue seemed genuinely shocked by the turnout, being forced to open the balcolny have way through as downstairs was so packed....

Interview with Mark Osegueda of Death Angel.
(Thanks to "Rocktribune" Mario Mortier)
At the age of, say, 12 or 15, when you’re playing in a band, it’s for fun, and not for the money. Probably dreaming of honour and glory, seeing yourself becoming the hero of the day on a big festival stage… but that’s about it most of the times. It turned out slightly different for the five young Philippine thrashers annex nephews of Death Angel as they got thrown from one adventure into another in the mid-eighties. They were facing huge success at a very young age, with the two strong albums “The Ultra Violence” and “Frolic Through The Park” behind them. Everything fell apart though after the fabulous album “Act III”. The band went through a lot of name changes, while in the end no one really knew what was going on anymore. The band leader Mark Osegueda tries to explain what happened.
